Avyse Partners appoint James Woodward as Associate in the Financial Crime Team

We are delighted to announce that James Woodward has joined our in demand financial crime team. He joins us from the FCA where he has been for the last three years, across various departments specialising in cryptoassets.

James has worked closely with cryptoasset firms through reviewing MLR registration applications and most recently been an integral member of the FCA team developing the new cryptoasset custody framework regime as laid out in FCA publication DP23/4.

James has been able to further increase his expertise in Financial Crime through becoming a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and a Certified Cryptoasset Anti-Financial Crime Specialist (CCAS) through ACAMS.

James’ passion for this rapidly evolving field led him to Avyse, where we are continuing to expand our work in this growing market. James said ‘I am excited to be embarking on a new journey with Avyse.  What really stood out for me at Avyse was the family first culture that was clear to see from the outset and throughout conversations with the team.  Joining Avyse presents an exciting opportunity to learn and develop my wider-Financial Crime knowledge, whilst also contributing to client engagements where I can apply my expertise in helping to drive innovation in shaping the future of compliance in the crypto space.’
